Forsyth Anglers Travel South On Yadkin For Event
July 18, 2009
If you wanted to win the Forsyth Bass Anglers event on Tuckertown Saturday, July 18th, you would have needed to round up over 12 plus pounds of five hungry bass in order to do it. Eight boats from the Winston-Salem area traveled down the Yadkin Chain of lakes to attempt what other clubs have been struggling to discover lately... where the big bass were hiding.
The club, run by president, Ron Knight, blasted off from the Flat Creek Access Area at safelight and returned at 2 PM. Tim Falls and Jimmy Lyles managed the twelve-plus pound winning bag, bringing 12.48 pounds of bass to the scales. The partners also netted first and second Big Fish honors for the day when the partners boated both a 5.15 and 3.83 pounder. Falls reported that the biggest lunker was the second fish the pair caught that day.
Second place was earned by Johnny Boggs and mike Moss, who hauled 7.06 pounds in. Third place went to Don Gatewood and Doug Lovings with 5.6.2 pounds.
The club fishes a five-fish limit.
